WHY PLINTH EXISTS
Plinth began with a simple idea. We wanted to create a modern water feature that felt considered enough to sit beside the furniture, planting and architecture of a contemporary garden. Something permanent, uncomplicated and designed to be lived with.
THE BEGINNING
DESIGNED AROUND FAMILY LIFE.
Our daughter has always been drawn to fish and water.
We wanted to create something she could watch and enjoy, close to where we sit together as a family.
But everything we found was either cheap plastics, temporary, overly technical or required a major pond-building project.
We wanted something raised enough to bring the water closer, substantial enough to feel permanent and considered enough to become part of the garden.
We could not find it.
So we designed The Plinth.
A DIFFERENT APPROACH
NOT A PLANTER, NOT A POND KIT
Many raised water features begin as decorative planters, troughs or shells, with pumps, cables and filtration added afterwards.
The Plinth was designed differently.
Its structure, filtration, circulation, fountain, overflow, power routing and underwater lighting were considered together from the beginning.
The result is one complete architectural water feature, with the working system concealed inside the form.
DEVELOPED THROUGH USE
DESIGNED IN A REAL GARDEN
The original Plinth was developed and tested in our own garden in Cheshire.
Living with it helped shape the proportions, height, finish, fountain movement and practical details that now define the product.
It needed to feel calm rather than ornamental.
It needed to work beside seating, planting and everyday family life.
Most importantly, it needed to make living water simpler to introduce into a modern outdoor space.
MADE WITH EXPERIENCE
BUILT FOR PERMANENT OUTDOOR USE.
Each Plinth is designed in Cheshire and produced in partnership with a specialist UK water manufacturer with more than 30 years’ experience.
The reinforced, water-safe GRP body is formed for permanent year-round outdoor use and finished in the distinctive lightly textured Plinth surface.
Every unit is assembled as one complete system and tested before dispatch.
